Housing Authority to Prepare Residents for Home Ownership
The Hartford Housing Authority has announced that, in the near future, it will offer a free home ownership education course to educate residents on the home buying process and help them decide if home purchase should be pursued.
The Christian Activities Council, the Urban League of Greater Hartford and HART, will conduct the course. It will help residents analyze current income and expenses, understand the mortgage loan approval process and reflect on the advantages and disadvantages of home ownership.
Those interested in the training course should send their name, address and telephone number to: Hartford Housing Program, 475 Flatbush Avenue, Hartford, CT. 06106.
The course is required for anyone wishing to purchase a new home in the Charter Oak Terrace Development. The Deadline to apply is October 27, 1997.
The course is available to current Charter Oak Terrace residents, Hartford Housing Authority Low Rent Public Housing residents, any family who relocated as a result of the Charter Oak Terrace Redevelopment, Section 8 residents, those living in HHA's State Moderate Rental Developments and any resident in the city of Hartford that is eligible for public housing.
